Passport, Visa & Travel Insurance
Passports
All travellers must have a valid passport for travel to the USA. Australian passport holders must possess
minimum 6 months validity from their return date of travel to Australia (i.e. 30 March 2017 for group travel).
It is your own responsibility to ensure you have a current passport with sufficient validity for travel.
You WILL need to advise your passport details to Events Beyond before airline tickets can be issued.
Please have your passport information available when completing your registration.
If you have a foreign passport, please ensure you have a valid Australian
re-entry visa in the passport you will be travelling with.
If you have a criminal record you will likely be required to obtain a visa
from the American Consulate before leaving Australia.
Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA)
Australian, New Zealand and British passport holders are required to complete an ESTA application and
must hold this authorisation in order to travel into the USA under the Visa Waiver Program.
An ESTA is an automated system that determines the eligibility of visitors to travel to the United States
under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). Authorisation via ESTA does not determine whether a traveler
is admissible to the United States. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers determine admissibility upon
travellers’ arrival. The ESTA application collects biographic information and answers to VWP eligibility questions.
ESTA applications may be submitted at any time prior to travel, though it is recommended that travelers apply
as soon as they begin preparing travel plans or prior to purchasing airline tickets.
ESTA's are valid for two years from their date of issue. If you already have a valid ESTA
(issued within the last two years) you DO NOT need another ESTA for the purpose of this trip
(providing your ESTA will be valid through to your return date of travel).
If you are unsure, please click on the link to the U.S. Customs & Border Protection Website
where you can easily check whether you have an existing visa.
(Please note: you will require your passport details to access this information)
For further information about ESTA’s refer to Frequently Asked Questions.
As the application requires a significant amount of personal information, it is more time efffective
and allows for complete confidentiality if you to apply directly. The cost of the Visa is USD14/AUD18.60.
